The Senior Software Tester contributes to the delivery of products by carrying out testing activities as part of an agile team. This role involves creating test estimates, test approaches, and executing identified testing. The Senior Software Tester may also be responsible for the overall agile team’s testing strategy and supporting junior team members.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the Cytiva R&D center located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own the definition of software test strategy, test plans, test infrastructure, and the planning and execution of manual test cases that align with overall departmental objectives.
- Identify and manage interdependencies across teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination as technologies and business needs evolve.
- Actively support the development team in investigating identified issues, including root cause analysis and defining reproducibility steps.
- Work closely with Engineering and Customer Support teams to gain insight into customer issues, deliver timely updates, and drive customer satisfaction through clear, proactive communication.
- Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to investigate, replicate, and resolve customer escalations, support incidents, and reported defects. Collaborate with global and local cross functional teams, and support team in resolving issues.
- Be part of new products development & Product care projects for Life Sciences by meeting business defined delivery metrics.
- Ensure compliance with Design History File (DHF), Regulatory and other QMS requirements including training requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Masters / BE in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 4 years Testing experience in new product development and Product care operations.
- Expertise in analyzing complex systems, defining testing strategies, designing effective test plans, and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Writing, reviewing, and executing manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, and performance testing
- Proven expertise in understanding the entire product development, sustenance process involving ISO & regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a cross-functional team.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
