  Tech Mahindra Limited is looking for Software Developer - Java & Android



Job Description

Our Android App development is based on Java. So in case no Android developers are available, Java developers would also be sufficient since they would only need to get used to the Android specific implementations. Thus most requirements that we already have for Java developers also apply for Android Developers.

General Requirements-

1. Adherence to common Best Practices and Conventions, both of which may or may not be Android AND Java standards (project standards always take precedence).
2. Knowledge and usage of common design and developments patterns
3. Knowledge and usage of common helper libraries
4. Overall recommendation: Min. 3-5 years of experience in Java 8+ and Android development
5. Experience in SQL (maintenance of existing creation scripts, implementation of sql statements within applications, etc.)
6. Experience in Junit
7. Experience with Gradle
8. Experience with AndroidStudio
9. VCS: Subversion

Application-Specific Requirements-

Within our Android application those basic concepts are used and should be known:
o Fundamentals of Views, ViewGroups and Layouts
o User input
o Storing data
o XML and JSON basics
o Model-View-Controller Pattern
o Android 8 and newer

Good to have-

1. Experience with Maven (dependency projects are using Maven but it`s not a must have to know)
2. Knowledge about agile development

Key Responsibilities-

1. Collaborating with the software development team on application design and development.
2. Optimizing software by performing maintenance, updates, and upgrades.
3. Documenting processes and maintaining software development records.
4. Keeping up to date with Java and Android standards and advancements in application development.
