  Ciena Corporation - The Network Specialist is looking for Automation Testing Engineer



Job Description

We are looking for stellar test software engineer to work on the team developing and testing the Blue Planet Orchestration platform services and software development kit (SDK).

Required Experience & Skills:

Bachelors/ Masters in Computer Science or equivalent field
Coding experience preferably in languages such as Python/ Java/ GoLang
Innate skill and enjoyment from debugging, reverse engineering, and breaking things
Use of Web Services and RESTful APIs
Experience working on Linux operating system environment
Interest and ability to quickly learn and ramp-up on new languages and technologies
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Knowledge or Experience:

Knowledge of test methodologies and experience authoring test plans
Agile development methodologies and tools
Distributed, Highly-available systems running at large scale
Network element protocols (e.g., TL1, CLI, SNMP, NETCONF)
Distributed platforms which use Kafka, Elasticsearch, Cassandra or similar systems
Cloud environments (e.g., Docker, AWS, Openstack etc.,)
Database technologies including distributed SQL and non-relational
Basic understanding of networking including L2/L3 Switching & Routing

The 95,000 square foot facility is Ciena`s first core research and development centre outside of North America, and is expected to employ more than 300 product development engineers within the next three years.

Ciena`s Gurgaon R&D Centre will focus on technologies such as Storage Extension and Optical Transport, including ultra long-haul, long-haul, regional and metropolitan applications, as well as Multiservice Switching, Broadband Access and Network Management. The Gurgaon Centre will supplement and work collaboratively with Ciena`s existing research and development organization in North America.
