Job Description

Candidate must have strong experience with manual as well as automated testing. As we do not have any automation in place, we will need to start with manual testing and then transition to automation as we go. Experience with Linux. The candidate does not have to be an expert nor do they need to know Linux in depth, but an understanding of how to use the command line and perhaps a little bit of shell scripting would be ideal. All of our images as well as our VMs are running Linux.

Expert with at least one of the major automation tools. This will most likely be Selenium, but there are other tools that the candidate may be experienced with. As long as they are experienced in one, they can probably learn others as needed. Java most QA candidates with experience in automation on Linux will probably know Java. Using one of these languages will make it easier to everyone since we use both quite a bit. Some experience with load and performance testing. This is not done frequently, but we do conduct those from time to time so having that experience will be good.

Testing asynchronous systems beyond the API. Most QA candidates will have experience testing the UI and the API (which are required). But the team in India will be working on connectors that are both synchronous and asynchronous. The synchronous part utilizes the API where users set up connectors on the platform, but the execution of the connectors for each tenant happens asynchronously via a scheduler. The candidates need to have some experience (either manual or automated) with testing these asynchronous jobs.

In addition, the candidates will need experience in testing individual services in isolation as well as the integrated platform as a whole. The API tests will test whether the end result is correct, but it doesn t test individual services within a chain of calls. Ideally, the candidate will have experience testing these in isolation as well as part of that chain.
